THE BUILDER OFF ANGERHOF

Angerhof was built around 1946 by Franz-Xaver Franzmair,
Born 2/22/1901 He specialized in the construction industry to engineer.
When 24 - year old he rode on a bycicle every day 25 km to its stage company to spend mone.As he was26 - year-old he started his own construction company.
In 1929 he married and had 3 kinderen.Paul 1929 and Uta 1935 (see sissi actress) and Roswitha 1939

He was in the entire area around the "Gastein" and far beyond a renowned architect. They described him as a fatherly boss. Economical he did goood business.
Used nails were removed from the timber to be used again.
He was involved in the construction of all the grand buildings in Bad Gastein, during the war he was working for the State but could still continue its business conduct.

In "43 he and his wife are became 50% of the Elisabeth hotel . (This was 1 of his projects).In the smallest apartment you will find drapery with the logo of the hotel. '46 He built Landhaus Angerhof.Many of the building materials became from other project-places.

In 1970 worked Roswitha also in the hotel Elizabeth, then in '81she becane the owner. The construction company was taken over by son Paul, who also comes to live in Angerhof . Only 11 years later, the construction company was declared bankrupt. ( around 1998). Paul was forced to sell many of his possessions. Landhaus Angerhof was for sale. For health reasons Paul had to live in Salzburg and as he dies the land house was solled by a business observer .De Hermsen family who emigrated from the Netherlands to start a future in Austria, renovated landhouse Angerhof to what it is these days.

SISSI ACTRESS

Uta Franzmair was born in Bad Gastein in '35 and daughter of the builder from Angerhof. The hoteliers daughter followed a comprehensive language training. She graduated a few years in a French boarding school in Switzerland, and eventually she went to Rome to perfect her Italian. Localy the girl from Gastein was approached by a young film maker with the desperate and pleading words: "I need you - when can you start? "Unexpected discovered on the canvas.

In 1953 she played in the Italian-French co-production "Villa Borghese" an impressive acting debut. Her talent did not remain undiscovered, and one years later she stood before her second film "Una Gina a Pari Roma, along the legendary Paul Hörbicher.
The daughter of the hotel owner became overnight the young movie star Uta Franz.

The addition "Mair" in the name, she now just left away, because it was not a good name for the film industry.
1955 hired director Ernst Marischka natural talent for the role of "Princess Helene of Bavaria" in his "Sissi" trilogy. Although Uta Franz as "Sissi" older sister "Nene" had an audience of millions around the world, she decided against a movie career, because after 1957 she never returned as an actress again. "Sissi" was her seventh and her final film, since than she had no interviews or public action anymore.
