Hiking is hot! It is not only good for the body, but also for the soul. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it is nice to just let everything fall away from you, and nowhere is better than in the mountains.
Hiking is also healthy and fun for children, choose a children-friendly route, let your children surprise you!
Gasteinertal offers many possibilities to go directly on top of the mountain with a lift. Especially on the Fulseck, Schlossalm, Stubnerkogel and Graukogel there is a lot to experience.
Stubnerkogel - the most scenic mountain, Bad Gastein
If you want to breathe in the fresh mountain air and cross the highest suspension bridge in Europe, you've come to the right place at the Stubnerkogel. Including 360-degree panorama!
Family mountain Schlossalm, Bad Hofgastein
Action, fun and adrenaline for the whole family can be found on the Schlossalm. Both pleasant walks and spicy climbing parties are possible here.
Pine Magic on the Graukogel, Bad Gastein
Walking with small children? Or are the children not yet used to walking? First try the Zirbenweg in Graukogel. It is not too long (45 min), not too difficult, everywhere these is something to do, to discover, to climb ... and beautiful views!
Adventure mountain Fulseck, Dorfgastein
Left or right? To the Spiegelsee (Mirror Lake), or discover the Mushroom Path. You must be here for adventures.
Prefer to walk without a lift? That is of course also possible! From our house you can walk directly to the Achenpromenade, the Gastein Höheweg, the Wassfalweg, Gamskarkogel ... Look at the Contwise Maps and find your ideal route.
Cycling
Especially for cyclists, a very special infrastructure has been created. The Gasteiner-cycletours are family friendly and pleasant. For the real Mountainbikers and Uphill fanatics with ambitions to go up into the mountains, this area offers you the ultimate and most diverse tours and training grounds. Alongside the routes there are multiple ‘Almhutten’ and ‘Alpengasthofen’ where you can enjoy food, drinks, peace and the views. Swimming
As soon as you enter the Gasteinertal, you will feel that water plays an important role here. The river "Gasteiner Ache", the spas, the fountains with warm water and the Gasteiner waterfall are just a few examples.
For swimming lovers there are endless possibilities to enjoy the water. Badesee swimming lake is just 1.5 km away from our house, a popular attraction on hot days due to its clean and pleasantly cool water. The Solarbad in Dorfgastein has several slides and saunas and is therefore ideal for families.
The Alpentherme Gastein, the largest Alpentherme in Europe, is located in the center of Bad Hofgastein. All baths in Alpentherme are filled with mineral-rich thermal water. Here you will find everything together: swimming lake, thermal bath, slides inside and outside, sauna, beauty salon, fitness center ... Perhaps also a good idea for bad weather?
Golfing
From the Landhaus Angerhof you can reach the 18-hole golf course within minutes. Here you can play golf in an amazing 360-degree alpine panorama. The terrain is very natural at the foot of the Gasteiner mountains. A nice change between hilly and flat courses, old trees and small mountain streams make the golf course varied for players of all levels.
You can test your skills with your children, friends or partner on the 12-hole mini-golf course in Bad Gastein and 18-hole mini-golf course in Bad Hofgastein. Mini golf has been a popular holiday activity for decades and that popularity has only increased in recent years. And that makes sense: no lessons are needed, everyone can participate and it is exciting, competitive and above all very fun!
Paragliding and Hang-gliding
The excellent thermal and well-schooled flight teachers will let you experience an adventure at dazzling heights. This can be practiced alone or with a tandem flight. With clear skies the view over the Gasteinertal is breathtaking.
Village festivities and Sternshoppen
If there is a village party, it is a must-do! Music, dance, food and drink, you will taste a true Austrian atmosphere here.
Coincidentally no party? Then visit the long shopping evening Sternshopping, which takes place once a week. The shops are then open until 10 pm and there is music, dance and a changing entertainment program. A good chance to get to know our cozy village of Bad Hofgastein.
